Privacy Notice
How we use the details you give us when you get in touch or work with us.
Who We Are
This website is run by Southlands Fire and Electrical Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15527311). We are responsible for any personal information you give us. You can contact us about privacy at harry@sfe-ltd.com or on 07711 126513.
What We Collect
When you fill in our quote form, email, message or call us, we collect the details you choose to give us. That is usually:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the address or postcode of the job
- details about the work you need
If we go on to do work for you, we also keep records of the job, such as quotes, invoices, test results and certificates.
How We Use It
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. This is needed before we can enter into a contract with you.
- To carry out and certify the work, and to invoice you. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
- To keep business, tax and safety records we are required to keep by law.
- To contact you about servicing or maintenance you have arranged with us. This is in our legitimate interests in looking after systems we have installed.
We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails.
Who We Share It With
We only share your details where we need to, for example with our accountant, with suppliers or subcontractors working on your job, or where the law requires it. Our website is hosted by Netlify, which also receives quote form submissions on our behalf and may store them in the United States under appropriate safeguards. Our email is provided by a third-party email provider.
How Long We Keep It
If an enquiry doesn't lead to any work, we delete your details within 12 months. If we do work for you, we keep job and financial records for at least six years to meet tax rules, and we may keep certificates and test records for longer because they relate to the safety of your installation.

Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we don't need to keep it. You can also object to how we use it. Just email us and we'll respond within one month.
